Novel Coronavirus (COVID19): MYTH BUSTERS by the World Health Organization (WHO)

WHO has delcared Coronavirus situation as pandemic now with 142320 confirmed cases,5388 loss of precious lives affecting 129 countries so far.As Coronavirus is spreading throughout the world, there are several myths also popping up across.

Below are the few myth busters from WHO (World Health Organization):

  •    There is no reason to believe that cold weather can kill the new coronavirus or other diseases.
  •    Taking a hot bath will not prevent you from catching COVID-19. Your normal body temperature remains around 36.5°C to 37°C, regardless of the temperature of your bath or shower.
  •   The new coronavirus cannot be transmitted through goods manufactured in China or any country reporting COVID-19 cases. If you think a surface may be contaminated, use a disinfectant to clean it. After touching it, clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
  •    To date there has been no information nor evidence to suggest that the new coronavirus could be transmitted by mosquitoes.
  •     Hand dryers are not effective in killing the 2019-nCoV.
  •    UV lamps should not be used to sterilize hands or other areas of skin as UV radiation can cause skin irritation.
  •     Thermal scanners are only effective in detecting people who have developed a fever (i.e. have a higher than normal body temperature) because of infection with the new coronavirus.

  •
  •    Spraying alcohol or chlorine all over your body will not kill viruses that have already entered your body.
  •     At present, there is no evidence that companion animals/pets such as dogs or cats can be infected with the new coronavirus.
  •    Vaccines against pneumonia, such as pneumococcal vaccine and  Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib) vaccine, do not provide protection against the new coronavirus.
  •     There is no evidence that regularly rinsing the nose with saline has protected people from infection with the new coronavirus.
  •   Garlic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. However, there is no evidence from the current outbreak that eating garlic has protected people from the new coronavirus.
  •    People of all ages can be infected by the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV). Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus.

  •    No, antibiotics do not work against viruses, only bacteria. The new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is a virus and, therefore, antibiotics should not be used as a means of prevention or treatment.
  •    To date, there is no specific medicine recommended to prevent or treat the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

Novel Coronavirus (COVID19): Source,Spread,Symptoms,Healthy Habits & a Movie Contagion (2011)

Novel Coronavirus (COVID19) is spreading all around the world. As of today’s, reports, the global number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has surpassed 100 000 and more than 3000 precious human lives lost due to this. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”). Till date, it has affected around 90 countries worldwide. On January 30, 2020, the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee of the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a “public health emergency of international concern. The epicenter of this spread is believed to be Wuhan, Hubei province, China. Vaccine and medications for this disease are yet to be invented though research is in full swing. It might take some more time. Till then precaution is the best bet against this disease.

Source and Spread of the Virus:
  • Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats, and bats.
  • The SARS-CoV-2 virus is a beta coronavirus, like MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV. All three of these viruses have their origins in bats.
  • The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
  • It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.
China, Iran, Italy, Japan and South Korea are the most affected nations as of now. In India, so far, we are lucky that we don’t have situation of severe community spread. Community spread means some people have been infected and it is not known how or where they became exposed.  The Government of India is trying their level best in containing this spread to the minimum. As a citizen, it’s very important that we shouldn’t be panic in this situation and rather help each other by taking the best possible precautions in our day to day lives.

Symptoms:

Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

Healthy Habits to Help Prevent Coronavirus:
  • Clean your hands with soaps/hand wash or hand sanitizers (having     alcohol >60%).
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep     your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • If possible, stay home from workplace, school and crowded places when    you are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty    of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
  • You may also avoid public transportation or else travel with full safety      measures in place like wearing facemasks  etc.
What to do if you are feeling sick or having doubts about health condition?
  • Immediately take proper medical care and you may also contact GOI 24*7 helpline number for further guidance by calling on +91- 11- 23978046 or by emailing to ncov2019@gmail.com.
  • Stay home and avoid public areas, crowded places.
  • You should restrict contact with pets and other animals also while you are sick with COVID-19.
  • Patients with confirmed COVID-19 should remain under home isolation precautions until the risk of secondary transmission to others is thought to be low. Please follow advice from your healthcare providers.

CORONAVIRUS(2019) & MOVIE CONTAGION(2011) SIMILARITY:

There could be a mere coincidence that a science fiction movie titled “Contagion” released in 2011 starring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Lawrence Fishburne and others is having the very similar kind of situation which the world is currently experiencing due to Coronavirus. It's having very striking similarities of events. You may watch this movie on Amazon prime or on YouTube. You will be totally surprised for sure!

Spotlight : Sports and Energy Footprint !

The cricket world cup just got over and now it’s time for football Champions league and IPL. Sports as recreation existed since centuries but the current era has changed its dimensions drastically. Sports have become a global phenomena. The digital media enables you to enjoy your favorite sport, happening at any corner of the world to your comfort place. Competitions have gone international and the world is competing for glory each day. I see everything through the lens of environmental impact and the picture of sports does not please me. My concerns are on the carbon footprint of each big tournament for each sport and how this is becoming more vicious and recursive. Starting with cricket as it relates to India very closely. As a cricket fan I am aware of following major tournaments: a world cup every four years, a T20 world cup also every two years, IPL each year, a Champions league each year and various domestic leagues in continents. Apart from these there are numerous other cricket tours and series among the cricket teams. If I just narrow myself to 60 matches that are played in IPL each year, let’s look at the environmental impact of it.  For each single match the entire teams travel by flights and so do the cricket fans. There are so many other things to consider that leave a carbon footprint for every game played: the live transmission on TV and live streaming on internet, all advertising, power consumption for floodlights and other electronics in stadium, transportation of everything, transportation/stay of players, fans and off course, a lot of plastics. Imagine this is true for every league, every tour that happens throughout the world for cricket. This accounts to a huge carbon footprint which I do not see getting compensated anywhere.
IPL Schedule 2015 Cricket
60 matches in IPL 2015

With football, the story is similar but it amplifies owing it to be the most popular sport of the world. There are multiple leagues each year, much more than cricket, like UEFA Champions league, Premier league, La Liga and many others. Football world cup has its different charm altogether. There are bids fought to host the cup and a global competition unleashes every four years. While the environmental impacts are same as I discussed for cricket, another perspective I couldn't have thought until I learnt when Qatar won the bid for 2022 cricket world cup. The harsh environmental conditions of Qatar are to be countered with cooling systems for the venues, though claimed to be carbon neutral as it will use solar energy only, there are 9 new venues that will be constructed to host the show. That leaves behind a huge footprint of pollution and resource consumption, again not discussed or compensated for. And there is a huge debate about the working condition of migrant workers for these constructions. The human rights of migrant workers (mostly Nepalese) with dozens already dead and projected 4000+ deaths by 2022, tells the cost of our entertainment.

Bidding to host a game and constructing new stadiums is not new. It happens for Olympics and Commonwealth games too. There is always a debate about the sites where they are brought up, the environmental impact and human rights of the people relocated. The commonwealth games in New Delhi showed another dirty side called corruption. Are we paying too much cost for entertainment?

FIFA Football World Cup
Protestors gather outside FIFA's headquarters in Zurich
The saga is same for other sports as well, be it baseball, basketball or hockey, though impacts are in different dimensions or levels. One last sport I want to touch is Formula one. Each year 15-20 championships at each corner of the world and each team travel with their cars and full equipment on air. Typically each race require accommodation and travel of 5000 visitors and their equipment. The sport itself has its emissions and the fans who travel from all over the world also to be counted.

FIA Formula One World Championship Racing

All discussed above worries me and should worry everyone residing on this planet. And this is becoming more and more recursive. The economic gap that exists in the world today has left the power to drive, almost everything, in the hands of top 1% capital holders of this world (holding 99% of global capital).

The sports and entertainment are driven hence by the funders at the top who are gaining more and more revenues from each league, each tournament. The bids at IPL auctions tell how much these houses are gaining from the events. On other side there will never be a shortage of viewers to support the TRPs and hence funding through advertisements. Lately, with upcoming leagues for almost all other sports like badminton, tennis, hockey and even Kabaddi, the picture that cannot be ignored and some solutions need to be worked upon.

I cannot run away by putting a problem and not suggesting any solution to it. I myself am a big fan of cricket. Sports are important and have a lot of positive impact on our societies. They bring people together, bring perspectives together, motivate you for physical activity and the lessons you gain about team work and sportsmanship are priceless. We cannot stop the viewers from watching these sports, in fact they should not, but there needs to be a voice at a global level to look over the carbon footprint of these events and ensure they are neutralized. There are regulations for carbon emissions for industries, enforced in some countries (recently Chile). If same can be ensured for the sports events also we can be sure of a sustainable future for sports as well. Some examples have already been set. The Winter Olympics of 2010, in Vancouver, were the first carbon neutral games of history. This shows the power of renewable energy and how we can look forward to neutralize all these sport events. We evolved as a society where many viewpoints prevail, but one common thing that we all share is our precious planet and a responsibility to sustain it. Environmental footprint should be in agenda of each sport event being organized, that should be discussed and explicitly neutralized to the extent possible. Viewers share responsibility to be considerate about what they watch, their individual footprint and show support towards sustainable future of sports.

Let’s Make the World a Better Place to Live : An Eye for an Eye Will Make the Whole World Blind !!

I am afraid as I find a complete darkness and inhumanity all across for a moment. Recent terrorist attacks at various parts of the world have shaken the whole idea of brotherhood, love and humanity. Whether its Lindt cafe in Sydney or Army Public School in Peshawar or Charlie Hebdo office in Paris, all these recent terrorist attacks are a big black blot on the humanity and mankind itself. Although there is such a large list of such terror attacks on the humanity in the past, I will just discuss these three recent attacks in this article to be more specific. I feel all the pain and grief as every other sensible people in most reasonable way for all such things and strongly condemn such heinous terror acts and extend my full sympathies and solidarity to the victims and their near and dear ones in this hour of extreme grief.
#JeSuisCharlie #JeSuisAhmed Charlie Hebdo Attack, Paris

Who are these people who attack?

When we closely examine these events, we will find these attackers are no one but a complete case of psychos, retards, serial offenders and extremists who don’t have any idea about core values of any religion. Attacker at Lindt café in Sydney was a history sheeter and a murderer of his wife and a self-proclaimed Islamist. Attackers at Army Public School in Peshawar were extremists Taliban who are very much reluctant to modern open thinking and free society. Attackers at Charlie Hebdo office in Paris were the persons who were highly intolerant for the criticism on their religion. While these attackers are from different geographical locations and culture, might be their religion due to their names is same, but one thing is very common among these all such people. They all don’t understand the whole idea of humanity, tolerance, collective growth and an open and free multilingual, multicultural society comprising of people from different religion and beliefs. We must understand that terrorism and terrorists are no way related to any particular community or religion. They have their own personal agendas or propaganda which is no way for any kind of betterment or profit to their religion or themselves with which they claim to belong to very wrongly.

Who are those people who become victims?

When we talk about victims in such attacks, mostly they are innocent people and children who have nothing to do with such ridiculous and senseless inhumane things irrespective of their religion or identity. 145 innocent children of Peshawar attack were of the same religion as the attackers supposedly belong to. Ironically, attackers at Charlie Hebdo office in Paris killed the French policeman Ahmed Merabet very brutally who was defending the assault on office from terrorists, who was also of same religion as the attackers supposedly belong to. I am not going to discuss such type of terror attacks in the whole history happened so far in this article itself done by different sections of the people as that needs a long discussion and case by case studies. Just by analyzing these tragic events, we can have a clear cut idea. Terrorists all across the world don’t belong to any religion as they are supposedly linking themselves by their appearance. They are just curse on the humanity who bring bad names to their community with they supposedly belong to due to their names and appearance.

What is the reason behind such people inhuman violence acts?

I find some very possible reasons like ignorance, intolerance, impatience or in few cases injustice. If we talk about attack on Charlie Hebdo office, we got news that attackers attacked the office for the revenge on few controversial cartoons on Islam and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) .Attackers must know that this is not the way; you can do something good for your religion except bringing bad name and hate. Prophet Muhammad himself never justified any such act of revenge or hate to anyone irrespective of belief. We can have an idea about his tolerance and patience by this short incident. A neighbor of the Prophet that tried her best to irritate him by throwing garbage in his way several days. One day, when he walked out of his home there was no garbage. The Prophet inquired about the old lady and came to know that she was not well. The Prophet went to visit her and offer any assistance she might need. The old woman was extremely humbled and at the same time ashamed of her actions in light of the concern that the Prophet showed her. We need to understand the very fact that attention and love of anyone can only be achieved by giving love and being polite to them rather than by applying force or fear. World is perfect mirror. Taliban just took many innocent lives for the so called revenge of the military actions of the Pakistani Army and for creating fear in the people heart and mind.

When I go more deeply into such terror acts which all are happening across the world, I find lust for dominance is the main factor behind every such thing. From biggest to smallest level, you just analyze and you will certainly find that all wars, clashes and such heinous terror acts are mainly due to setting themselves more dominant from rest.War of dominance is the biggest deterrent for the world peace and harmony. What do you think ?

Yes I do believe that every incident have two sides of stories and justifications. But killing humanity on the name of revenge is not at all justifiable at any level by any religion and their sacred scriptures. If you want to protest something which is against you, there are many non-violent ways to do so.Might be your voice will be heard very late, but you must remember, someday you will find unexpected support and attention from various quarters if you are correct.Violence is not at all a solution for any kind of protest which always brings bloodshed and cycle continues. We all must need to stop this inhumane cycle by being tolerant and non-violent.

Terrorists attacks across the world, no mercy

Which religion in the world justifies such cruelty and inhumanity?

Not a single religion of the world advocates attacks on innocent people. Yes, I do agree, we can have different methods of praying, different attire and looks but one thing is very common, all religions and their sacred books have peace and love in their ethos. If the Almighty himself is taking care of all people in the world irrespective of their religion, then who gives anybody right to kill anyone just because they don’t share the same faith and ways of worship. If God himself is not differentiating at the time of birth by any means, why we are creating tension on the name of God!

Bollywood movies like “PK” and “OMG- Oh My God” illustrates few very complex things in easiest possible ways. How on the matter of religion, people have become thirsty for each other blood. How self-proclaimed contractors of religion are fooling the innocent people everywhere. All the religions of world advocates peace and harmony but few low minded people who cannot understand the greatness of mutual growth are inciting the softest corner of the people and promoting blood bath and hatred. We must understand that first and foremost we are human beings and then all the earthly classification and divide comes into picture. We all are unified by humanity which gives us an edge from all other species.

For making a better world, we all should come out from narrow thinking and raise our strong voice for a united world irrespective of all our earthly divisions. Father of the nation of India, Mahatma Gandhi very correctly warned us “An Eye for an Eye Will Make the Whole World Blind”. We should not relate any terror act to any particular community or religion, rather world must get united to fight against such retards who all are killing innocent people on the name of religion and dominance. Definitely this world is having plenty of good and sensible people across the geographies and ethnicity, who are putting their best efforts to make the world a better place to live peacefully with harmony. After these recent terror acts, trending hashtags like #illridewithyou, #JeSuisAhmed, #PakWithIndiaNoToLakhviBail, #IndiaWithPakistan on twitter shows the strength of such sensible people who are having open mind and promoting free society. We must stop stereotyping people and community, making perceptions about people by their facial, physical appearance and attire. We need to understand the very fact that one single individual can be of bad nature or of criminal mind, not the whole society, community or religion with which he/she supposedly relates to. World must get united to defeat all such fascist, racist and communal forces and people around the world. These all good and supporting acts by nice people give us a hope to move ahead for a better world.

Let’s make the world a better place to live, free to roam and speak, free to practice any faith. Let’s make the “REAL FREEDOM” free for everyone in every possible way.

An Analysis : SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) and its Relevance !!

SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation)None of the nation has sufficient power to choose its geographical neighbors. Its boundaries, priorities, ideologies, governments etc. may change over the time but it cannot simply ignore its neighbors. In this modern world, the phenomena of regional cooperation have grappled the whole world. In the era of globalization, the formation of regional groupings is being recognised as a step towards global integration. Regional groupings are, most commonly, based upon the principles of shared histories, geographical contiguity, core competencies, advantages associated with economy of scale etc. We can see few non-overlapping regional groupings.

Different regional groupings in the world

Now the trend of many overlapping cooperation are opening up space for cooperation on multiple fora. Thus the nations are trying to utilise even the slightest of opening opportunities. South Asia could not remain isolated with this phenomenon.

The concept of political and economical cooperation in South Asia was first envisaged by Bangladeshi President Late Zia-Ur-Rahman in 1980. SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) came into being in 1985 with Bangladesh, BhutanIndiaMaldivesNepalPakistan, and Sri Lanka as founding members. Afghanistan joined SAARC in 2007.

Presence of observer members has increased group's legitimacy. They are Australia, China, European Union (EU), Iran, Japan, Mauritius, Myanmar, South Korea, and United States (USA).

SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation)

South Asia constitutes the world’s second least developed region after Sub-Saharan Africa. It has more poor people than the rest of the world. It is generally said that even after 30 years of its establishment, SAARC has remained merely a talk shop. We will discuss this issue in detail but let us first understand Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats associated with this grouping.

Strength
Weakness
Economic:
  • Rising economies (So provides large consumption market too.)
  • Huge natural resources: Common rivers, a mountain system, an ocean (these open opportunities for regional trade, hydro-power generations etc.)
Economic:
  • Very less regional connectivity(Among member countries)
  • Huge deficit of skilled manpower
  • Lacking in infrastructure development(Within national boundaries)
  • Trade barriers and less integration have made trade costly.
  • Scarcity of capital to invest in productive infrastructure
Overall:
  • Demographic Dividend(Youthful population)
  • So many agreed areas of cooperation, institutional mechanism and a Permanent Secretariat for SAARC
  • Challenges faced by member countries are of very similar nature. (Solutions lie in convergence of efforts to contain them.)
Overall :
  • Political history still dominates the national consciousness. It has become one of the biggest hurdles in regional integration.
  • Low level of HDI(Human Development Index) ranking
  • Very low status of women
Opportunity
Threat
Economic:
  • Possibility of benefits accruing to nations through economy of scale because of rising consumption
  • Economic cooperation will raise the threshold below which bilateral relations will not fall
Economic:
  • Countries will either miss the opportunity or will be late in improving quality of lives of people due to non-cooperation
Overall:
  • Social benefits by promoting growth (improving public health, education etc.)
  • Regional cooperation can also attenuate inter-state and intra-state conflicts and helps to stabilize the region.
Overall:
  • Due to changing climate, the vulnerability to disasters has increased. Not having cooperation among regional neighbors will make its management difficult.

Thus we can see that the opportunity cost of not having good relation is huge. Over the years, areas of cooperation have diversified to engage political, economic, social, cultural and other aspects. The SAARC Summits have created a platform for closed-door bilateral talks among members. These meetings have pushed for progress in regional cooperation. SAARC has moved ahead but the level of cooperation is much below its potential. We will first look into the steps taken by SAARC then question of its relevance and then the way forward.

Steps taken
  1. South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA): It was signed by founding members in 2004 and came into force in 2006. It created a free trade area of member nations. It is aimed to reduce custom duties of all traded goods to zero by the year 2016. Afghanistan as the 8th member state of the SAARC ratified the SAFTA protocol in 2011.As of 20 September 2013, the total free on board value of exports by Member States under SAFTA has reached about US$ 3 billion. This amount is far below the potential.
Most important hurdles=>
I) Huge size of Sensitive lists (These contain goods that are exempted from low SAFTA tariffs. The use of sensitive lists allows countries to protect growing domestic industries or important sources of custom revenue.  However, its overuse can make goods more expensive for consumers and reduce trade.) Realising its negative consequence, members are now making effort to reduce this.
II)  Reasons mentioned in Weakness section in the table above.
III) Liberalization in service and investment is due, only goods portion have been taken care yet. Sooner it is done, quicker and bigger will be its impact in economic cooperation.

  1. Expansion of grouping: It is hoped that Afghanistan will become a land bridge between Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. It will also become a trade, transportation, energy and minerals hub in the region. This seems mere aspiration at present but time will test its importance.
  2. Culture: Bamiyan (Buddhist site in Afghanistan) was declared as the SAARC CULTURAL CAPITAL for 2015. This is the unique step taken by the SAARC Cultural Centre. A series of year-long cultural events with a national but with an overall South Asian dimension will be organized at Bamiyan to celebrate its status as the First SAARC CULTURAL CAPITAL (DHAKA will be the second.) for the whole of South Asian region. It is an important step in the direction of cherishing shared culture which has got mired in the narrow identities and national boundaries.
  3. Education: Establishment of South Asian University in New Delhi and "Delhi Declaration" on education has charted out new course of cooperation.
  4. Recent summit (18th Summit in NOV, 2014)-There were three proposed regional agreements for connectivity and integration: motor vehicles, rail and energy cooperationTensions between India and Pakistan, once again, grappled the SAARC summit. Islamabad expressed concerns over all three but later agreed to SAARC Market of Electricity (SAME) Agreement. Finally all agreed to SAARC transport Ministers hammering out an agreement on motor vehicles and railway services within three months. SAME aims to setup a “SAARC energy grid” which will open up new era of cooperation.

Question of SAARC's relevance

It is seen that SAARC countries are connected more to the outside world than to each other. They are also giving more importance to other cooperation fora like ASEAN, BIMSTEC etc. But beyond shared history the challenges faced by SAARC nation are of almost similar nature. These challenges include poverty, unemployment, environment, globalization and issues related to national securities like terrorism, drug trafficking etc. Challenges should bring members closer to cooperate not far apart.

It is generally said that SAARC has merely remained a talk shop. But looking at the steps taken we can understand that this view is not entirely true. We should see the process and stages of development of European Union.

India's role

Initially India was against forming of such grouping. But after liberalization of economy and successes of NAFTA, ASEAN etc opened its eyes. In this association, India is perceived to behave like a hegemon and Pakistan as obstructionist in India’s ambitions to play a legitimate role commensurate with its achievements and capabilities. India's neighbors have tried to play China card against India either to get more concessions or pressurize it. In the recent summit (Nov 2014), Pakistan pushed for enhanced role of China in SAARC.

India being heavy weight can't dream of becoming regional power or global power without having made SAARC functional in its objective. But India will have to leave big brother attitude and try to get neighbors on board. At the same time neighbors too will have to look into the long term prospects and benefits accruing out of the successes of SAARC. China's economic power should be utilized in constructive way rather than holding India's effort.

Following will be the key in SAARC's success:

(a) Building Trust (b) Putting economics before politics (c) Boosting up cultural cooperation and regional tourism (d) Joint effort to deter cross-border illegal migration, terrorism, narcotics and drug trafficking.
SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation)

Besides these bilateral and sub-regional initiatives (Nepal-India-Bangladesh etc.) could significantly spur regional cooperation. After the experience of two terrible world wars, European nations sank their differences and came together. They are now enjoying the fruits of shared prosperity. 2010-20 is the SAARC Decade of Intra-regional Connectivity. With the great focus of Prime Minister Modi's govt. in the neighborhood, let us hope this becomes a ground reality.

What is your opinion about relevance of SAARC? How it can be utilized as a useful forum for the Indian subcontinent growth and prosperity?

How is SAARC’s performance with its counterpart groupings around the world? How it can become stronger and relevant in world scenario?
